13 July 09 - Launch of the Eastern Region Healthy Child Workforce Collaborative

‘Towards the best, together' (the clinical vision for the NHS in the East of England) identified the implementation of the Healthy Child Programme by 2010 as a key priority for the region.

The NHS East of England, the Eastern Development Centre and Together for Children established a joint workforce Collaborative, marking this with an official launch event.

The Collaborative aims to offer support to Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and their Children's Trust partners in local authorities to implement the Healthy Child Programme across the east of England. Over a period of ten months - from July 2009 to April 2010 - the Collaborative programme will include regional workshops, individual PCT/Local Authority (LA) facilitated sessions and cluster learning sets.

The Eastern Region PCTs/LA's were offered the opportunity to participate in this Healthy Child Workforce Collaborative. They were asked to submit an Expression of Interest which identified key members of their proposed Healthy Child Programme Teams. Members of these teams and regional and national stakeholders were invited to this event.
