This was an Eastern Development Centre event.
This free 1 day conference was for managing authorities (care homes and hospitals) in the Eastern Region. The conference aimed to reflect on and discuss the first 9 months since the introduction of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards on the 1st of April 2009.
Topics that were explored included:
- Have we now a clearer understanding of what constitutes deprivation of liberty?
- What have we learned in this first 9 months?
- What problems and issues are emerging?
- Deprivation of Liberty and IMCA involvement
- How will the deprivation of liberty safeguards be inspected?

- Representatives from Care Homes
- Hospital staff with responsibility for DOLS
